RegWatchEurope (RWE) participated in the 33rd biannual meeting of the OECD’s Regulatory Policy Committee (RPC), reaffirming its commitment to better regulation and independent oversight at the international level.
The RPC serves as a global forum for governments to exchange best practices on regulatory quality and delivery. Key topics included the Simplification for Success Initiative, aimed at reducing unnecessary complexity in legislation, and the symposium preceding the biannual meeting, which focused on learning from past experiences to shape a forward‑looking agenda. The use of regulatory sandboxes was also explored, with the OECD presenting its Sandbox Toolkit and countries sharing practical experiences. Finally, the Committee discussed measuring regulatory performance, a central element of the OECD’s Regulatory Policy Outlook, which evaluates the quality of countries’ better regulation systems and identifies opportunities for improvement.
